Data sources and licences
Every finding in a report comes from the data below. For each one, this page says what we use it for, the licence we use it under, and how often it's updated. Where a licence doesn't allow reuse, or we can't find a licence, we don't show the data. We link to the official source so you can check it yourself.
NSW sales data is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, which doesn't allow commercial use. HouseScan is currently a non-commercial preview and uses this data for estimates and nearby sales. Charging for it or any commercial use would need a separate licence from the NSW Valuer General first.
NSW (Sydney): full report
“Live query” means we query the government's map service when the report is made. “Bundled” means we download the data on a schedule, clean it up and keep it on the site.
Other states (area-level report)
Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, the ACT, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory don't publish individual sales, so we only give area-level information. Each state's report also lists the sources used at the bottom.
